With the pandemic spreading, the loss of lives, loss of livelihoods, social distance and a constantly prevailing atmosphere of retrogression, the mist of fear is real and thick.
Yes, Not Fear. We are not to be subject to fear because God has given us power, love and a sound mind.
Power
Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.
Luke 10:19 ESV
Unto us power has been released, given. Many think it is simply an encouraging phrase. We have the power to tread over any thing that the enemy is throwing at us. I have heard over and over, that power is taken, indeed it is. Receive your portion of power to be able to reject what the enemy is throwing at you and to be able to overcome fear.
Love
The LORD appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.
Jeremiah 31:3 ESV
The love of God is dependable, reliable and everlasting. His word confirms it, trouble not withstanding, His faithfulness endures. We must seek to see Him in our times of trouble, He is a shield, our glory and the lifter of our heads. I’m reminded that His word says that even in the fire we will not burn and in the waters they will not overwhelm us. A constant reminder that our situations are not impossible.
Sanity
And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?
Matthew 6:27 ESV
Anxiety and mental oppression come from the state of inability, the mind is troubled when it encounters a challenge. We are reminded that there’s nothing we add by worry or anxiety. God has given us soundness of mind and grace for the season. The peace of taking a day at a time and the wisdom to cast our burdens to Him when it all looks very heavy.
And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.
Joel 2:32 ESV
Beloved, we shall not fear, we shall call upon the name of the LORD. Fear cripples and confirms inability but not today, not ever and certainly not fear shall separate us from the Love of God.
