Hiding place

I loved how in my childhood, hide and seek always was the go to game, yeah it was the game of choice. Mainly because there was this place that always worked for me, I’d run and fix myself there and get everybody bored looking for me and they’d never find me, so when they got distracted I’d come out and sadly they’d moved on to something more interesting. Such is life, we want a hide out, a place of escape, a kind of fortress where what is going on in everyone’s life doesn’t come on to ours.

Hiding has been for ages a strategy for survival. If you can’t beat them and you can’t join them then hide from them. Out of sight, out of mind is the perfect description of what I mean by hiding. In our day and age there’s so much to hide from. Where to hide is the greatest challenge of our time. With what we have experienced in under a year, no where is safe and no one is safe. The concept of safety eludes us. But there’s hope.

Proverbs 18:10

The name of the LORD remains safe even in a tumultuous time, we who have been clothed with the righteousness of Jesus need to remember we are safe with Christ, whatever seems to scare everyone else need not scare us.

Protection is survival, knowing how to stay safe is the best knowledge one could possess, because you are your most loyal person. When addressing safety, mapping out safe zones and literally doing drills so people identify them and understand course of action is key, that’s why fire drills are common. It translates to knowing that the name of the LORD is a strong tower but of even greater importance is running to that name, for it is staying in it that keeps us safe.

Have you tried out your hidding place, do drills! Make a mess till you have the drill all up in you and ready to go because only those in the hidding place find safety. And may you keep clothed in the righteousness of Christ Jesus, for only the righteous run to it and are safe.
