Not on your terms!

God will sort you, just not on your own terms. I live in a generation which feels very disappointed with God. It is common banter, ‘ God has not done this, God has not done that…’ In fact mental disorder has become common place in our day. We mop day long, we go about our days believing we don’t matter and no one cares for us. We live life as if we called ourselves to life, as if we formed ourselves and others in it, it is not the case.

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

2 Peter 3:9 (ESV)

God is not slow, His purposes prevail, He has determined good for us. The good He has determined for us require a change, in our thinking and acting, which points us to repentance. Since God tries the heart, we ourselves have no clue what finds our hearts have brought to God. We need to work with God in our hearts’ personal development. He is patient and that just means it is for our good. Most of the time when we insist on our own way we hurt more. We fall deeper into the devices of the heart and end in worse pits. While at it we blame God because He won’t sort us at our own terms. What we keep doing is throwing tantrums when we claim to be unsorted.

Stop with the tantrums.

Stop with the tantrums, stop the blackmail, stop the pity party. Choose change! Repentance is a turn around. Turn and face your Father in heaven, have a conversation on the way forward. It is what it is! He will not sort you on your own terms.

  1. His good does indeed require a change in us. You point out something really good here. There is a lot of pointing to God, others or the situation but no reflection into self and what needs to change within.

  2. Great Piece.
When we start struggling with God’s sovereignty we loose it all. Thanks for the share and putting out what is happening in our generation.
